About Danielle Rubi

Danielle received a BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2000 and has lived in many corners of the world since...Northern and southern California, Paris, France, coastal Nayarit, Mexico, Marfa, Texas and beyond.

Rubi is a photographer, filmmaker, curator and producer. While living abroad in Paris, she curated art exhibitions and founded the award winning food and travel blog, The Trail of Crumbs. She also worked with Anthony Bourdain and his production company on many culinary travel documentary shows including “No Reservations” and “Mind of a Chef”. Those experiences inspired her to make a short film, “Prestige Ingredients”, starring Alia Shawkat, which showcases the current food scene in Paris within a fictional narrative. The film also features an original music score by Wilco’s Mikael Jorgensen and cinematography by Emmy award winning Ethan Mills.

After many years of cultural and artistic exploration, she got drawn back to her sweet hometown of Santa Barbara, where she continues to work internationally within the art, music, gastronomy and film community.
